The LIFE Project · ‘My Life’ photo competition 

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

The ‘My LIFE’ Photo competition is an ongoing activity as part of our LIFE Project wellbeing series. The photo competition asks competitors to submit a photo matching the LIFE Projects monthly wellbeing theme for a chance to a cash prize or giveaway each month.

The competition will feature a different photo theme per month to match the LIFE Projects wellbeing themes. The LIFE Project photo competition monthly themes include:

· November 2020 – Nature and the Environment

· January 2021 – Mental Health and Self Love

· February 2021 – Nutrition

· March 2021 – Fitness and Activity

· April 2021 – Technology

· May 2021 – Building Life Skills

The competition will run for approximately 3 weeks each month. Submitted competition photos will be displayed via the LIFE social media pages and our LIFE display noticeboard for public vote for the last week of each month throughout the duration of the LIFE Project.

COMPETITION RULES:

1. Photo entries (photo topic) must match the designated wellbeing theme for the relevant competition month. The monthly themes are listed above and will be advertised at the start of each month via our social media pages, website and public noticeboard.

2. Photo entry submissions are limited to 5 submissions per individual each month

3. All entries must be received by the designated end date and times allocated for each month. See Competition dates (page 2) for details.

4. Entries can be submitted by email, Facebook or in person (digital copy):

- Delivery to the Peterborough Youth Centre at 290 Main Street, Peterborough SA 5422 on Thursday or Fridays between 10am and 4pm.

5. Photos can be edited, filtered or altered as the entrant pleases, except for the inclusion of watermarks, logos or names. However, if the photo is selected for use, a high-resolution version may be required for publishing purposes (300 DPI).

COMPETITION PRIZES

Each month eligible entrants have the chance to win a $50 cash prize or a $50 gift voucher for your chosen business in Peterborough. Entrants who have won the monthly photo competition prize previously are eligible to win a prize in a different competition month.

A ‘My LIFE’ photo competition grand prize of $300 will be awarded for ‘Best competition photo’. All eligible photo entries from the ‘My Life’ photo competition will be displayed (with photo credit) at the LIFE Wellbeing Fair held in June of 2021.

 Competition Terms and Conditions 

1. All members of the Peterborough community and general public including employees of the District Council of Peterborough (excluding members of the LIFE Project committee) are permitted to enter the competition.
2. The entrant grants the District Council of Peterborough permission to exhibit the image, reproduce the image on websites or other digital media, including social media sites, and in material promoting the LIFE Project and Peterborough.
3. Any use of entered images will be appropriately credited.
4. By entering any image, the entrant has ensured that any person in any photo has given consent for their image to be publicly reproduced. In the case of a child (under 18) being shown in any photo, parental consent has been obtained.
5. You must be a resident of Australia, with an Australian mailing address, to be eligible to win the prize.
6. The entrant must be the creator of the image.
7. Images must have been created in the last 12 months.
8. The entrant must not have submitted their image into any other competition.
9. Copyright of the image remains with the photographer.
10. The entrant indemnifies the District Council of Peterborough against any claim, legal or otherwise, that may arise out of publication of the image.
11. By entering any image into this competition, the entrant guarantees to the District Council of Peterborough that the above entry requirements have been met and that the entrant accepts all the Rules and Terms and Conditions of the competition.
12. This is not a game of chance. The winning photo will be determined by public vote. Competition entries will be put up for voting via the LIFE Project and District Council of Peterborough Social media pages and websites. The winner will be determined from the photo entry that received the most votes by the closing date of voting.
