THE LIFE PROJECT

Lift - Inspire - Feel - Embrace

2020/2021

The District Council of Peterborough were recently successful in receiving a grant funded under the South Australian Government Statewide Wellbeing Strategy, led by Wellbeing SA. This project was 1 of 19 successful projects chosen from 350 applicants throughout South Australia. Through this opportunity, the Project Management team have created the 'LIFE Project'.

The LIFE Project (Lift - Inspire - Feel - Embrace) is a Wellbeing and Resilience program created for the community of Peterborough South Australia, and its surrounding areas. The program will feature a series of workshops and activities, face-to-face and on online applications and resources, as well as free community events that will empower individuals with the tools and information they need to make better lifestyles choices and improve their health and wellbeing.

LIFE PROJECT UPDATE

Our LIFE Project team, along with our community, ended 2020 somewhat disappointed in having to cancel and reschedule some events and workshops due to a change in COVID-19 restrictions.  Nonetheless, this has not stopped us from delivering exciting and enjoyable experiences and activities to our supporters.

Throughout December, we held our online Advent Calendar Wellness Challenge, filled with amazing opportunities to get in tune with your mind, your health, your space, and your friends & family.

The winner of our Wellbeing Challenge was Eileen Martin, who won a wellness gift hamper, valued at $150.

Congratulations!

Jumping into the new year, we were excited to bring Anthony North, a Life Coach and Motivational Speaker, in for two sessions held at the Peterborough Youth Centre. We also were fortunate to run two Workshops with Emma Young who works for 'Without Doubt' - a Visioning Workshop and a Hide and Seek Cooking Workshop, both held at the Youth Centre.

To end Nutrition month, we welcomed Karen Montgomery over to Peterborough for our Edible Garden Workshop held at the Town Hall. Our attendees made their own wicking beds that they got to take home and care for, after learning some very helpful tips from Karen. Thank you Karen, we loved having you!

As well as Workshops, our LIFE Project Team have also run our My LIFE Photo Competition, beginning in November 2020, and will conclude in May 2021. Our supporters have been fantastic at sending in photo submissions for the competition. Well done to our winners!
